Filled with Faith

Dear Redeeming Grace,
We hope this week finds you continuing to marvel and rejoice that our risen savior is ruling this world--and our lives--from his heavenly throne. As I was thinking back to Dave's message this past Sunday, one sentence kept resounding:

"God wants us to be filled with faith in a world filled with trouble."

Faith and fear are both responses to the unknown. Fear looks into the future with an expectation of disappointment, pain, or that generally something bad will happen. Faith, on the other hand, is the anticipation of God's goodness, rooted in trusting his character and promises. In fact, God's word tells us it's even more than that:

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1 ESV)

What would our lives look like if we faced our unknowns with the assurance and conviction that God is who he says and every promise will come true?

May God work in us that kind of faith this week as we press on to exalt, enjoy, and extend his grace together.
