Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

As Christians, God has given us all unique personalities and skill sets to make an impact for his glory and the advancement of his gospel throughout the earth. These skill sets in Scripture are referred to as spiritual gifts. They are given to Christians by the Holy Spirit and are intended for the building up of the church. As the good news of the gospel changes our hearts, our desires to serve God’s people and orient our lives around God’s purposes begin to increase, and we become more and more like Jesus who “came to serve and not be served” (Mark 10:45). Serving is an expression of how Jesus loves you, and how you can love others. Serving is also a great way to discover your spiritual gifts, mature in your faith, and help others become more like Christ.
