Grace and Glory

Dear Redeeming Grace,

As the Westminster Catechism states, the chief end of man is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever. And in our memory verse for this month, we see that God is glorified when there is thanksgiving for grace. It's as if grace sparks the fire of gratitude and thanksgiving radiates like heat.

The final verse of our scripture memory for this month ends this way:

"For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God." (2 Cor. 4:15 ESV)

In our longing to bring God glory, one of the ways we can participate is by extending grace to others. That may happen through sharing God's word with a friend or in our community groups. It may mean being gracious towards another and forgiving someone when wronged.

We also participate as we grow in being those who give thanks for grace! We can spend a few moments each day taking inventory of how we see God's grace at work in our lives. It's simply one practice, but making space to point out specific ways you've recognized God's undeserved kindness and mercy, will pour fuel on those flames of gratitude.

May we continue to be those who extend and receive grace, who praise God specifically with words of thanksgiving, that we might glorify and enjoy Him.
